Tappet Cam Follower. The surface of your cam followers should be a perfect "mirror like" finish. They must not have any gouges, scratches, or pitting. If you find any, they should be replaced! Also must be replaced if you are changing the cam shaft.

BMW updated to the straight window because the angled window tappets were cracking at the top & bottom of the window.
