Application Method

1. Disassemble the caliper

• Remove the caliper from the wheel.
• Remove the pads, pistons, springs/retaining pins (if applicable), guide pins / slide pins, and any rubber boots or dust covers, so you have access to metal-on-metal sliding surfaces

• Use a brake-safe solvent or degreaser to remove old grease, brake fluid residue, dirt, rust, or corrosion.
• Dry the parts completely. No old grease or fluid should remain.

• Use a small brush, swab, or your finger (with gloves) to spread a thin film of the grease onto:
  • Guide pins / slide pins
  • The metal housing bore/slider surfaces where the caliper body moves
  • Any metal-to-metal contact areas that require smooth sliding (but not rubber seals, dust boots, piston bores, or pad friction surfaces)
• Wipe away any excess — you want just enough to coat the surfaces, not a heavy blob.

4. Reassemble the caliper carefully

• Reinstall seals, pistons, dust boots / rubber covers, pads, pins, etc.
• Be sure not to contaminate brake-pad friction surfaces or the rotor/disc with any grease.

5. After assembly: brake-system bleeding & test

• Because you disassembled the caliper, bleed the hydraulic system to remove air.
• Test the brakes carefully (slow test-ride) to ensure proper pad retraction, sliding, and braking behavior.
