Crankshaft Inductive Timing Sensor.

The ignition timing sensor reads the position and speed of the crankshaft and in conjunction with the Camshaft position sensor IgnSen899 sends information to the ECU to determine fuel and ignition requirements (engine management).

Application Table

Test the resistance of your Ignition Sensor between the terminals on the sensor side of the connector, if it varies greatly from 667Ω then it should be replaced.

NOTE:

Before disconnecting the wiring from the sensor make sure the ignition is switched OFF and the battery disconnected.
The engine management system adaptation values must be reset by a BMW dealer to recognize the new component.
