The VR-Ext functions to keep the battery at full charge, by maintaining the proper output of the alternator under changing load conditions and varying speeds of the vehicle.

Testing: Bridging of the D+ and DF connectors on the Regulator Plug should result in an approximately 16 volt voltage reading at the battery with the engine running at 2500 RPM's and a properly functioning rotor, stator, and diode board / rectifier.
