The Issue – Background
Typically, battery cables to the
starter and earth ground are too small of a gauge. This creates an electrical
current bottleneck; not allowing the battery current to flow freely to the
vehicles current drawing components, especially the starter. This leads to
corrosion and oxidation near the terminals. Eventually this oxidation permeates
through the entire cable length, reducing the current carrying capacity of the
cable.
